Two weeks ago, while skiing, I was tackled broadside
at full force, probably 20-25 mph, by a snowboarder. I
may as well have been hit by a car without the
protection of the metal body. I didn't know what hit
me, though I was told later that the out-of-control
snowboarder was a good sized male in his mid-thirties.
"Ouch" would be understated. I couldn't move my right
arm or leg without enduring enormous pain.
After being taken by sled and ambulance via ski
patrols to the medical shack, it was recommended that
I go by ambulance to the local emergency room. I opted
to see Michael who immediately treated me with "a
bunch of stuff." I was in too much pain to recall most
of it.
I did see an orthopedic doctor to insure that there
were no breaks in my shoulder. My lateral shoulder
muscle was ripped and I was put in a sling so I
couldn't use it (I really COULDN'T use it anyway!)
The pain was so excruciating, and I was extremely
concerned about possibly having a life long residual
effect from my injury IF it ever got better.
Michael has treated me only THREE times. With each
treatment my arm got SIGNIFICANTLY better. In only a
short period of time I have 90-95% of my shoulder
back.
The treatments were relaxing.
I would go to him FIRST with ANY
medical/mental/emotional issue.
All throughout my life the thought of needles always brought fear to me and the thought of acupuncture seemed outrageous. I had previously tried treatment at my local chiropractor for the pain on my upper back, neck area. After a while nothing seemed to be working and the pain simply returned the day after. I didn’t know what else to do, and with all the movement and dancing as part of my normal day, I had to get something done fast. I decided to forget about the needles and try acupuncture; which ended up being the best thing for me after all. At Windhorse, you not only help the problem, you learn the ways in which to deal and prevent it from recurring. Acupuncture is the best treatment for relaxing after a hectic week. My neck and shoulders are now better than ever and I still continue to attend Windhorse for a good Thai massage, and occasionally an acupuncture treatment to relax and energize my body. Acupuncture is now part of my busy schedule, keeping me on track with focus and giving me enough energy throughout the day.
I spent a year going to acting school and trying to use my body properly. I realized that my back pain was holding me back. Earlier in the year a Doctor told me that i had minor disc injury and that it would heal over time. Not only did it not heal it gradually got worse. Because of this i decided to try out acupuncture. It completely helped my back in ways that i cant even comprehend. I would completely recommend Acupuncture to anyone out there willing to try something that will actually improve their life.
